Winter, 2012

Wow! So much time has gone by... only 2 more classes for this session. Remember our last class for winter 2012 is drawing cartoons! (If we have time)

For Spring 2012 session- 6 classes, the theme is: "It's a Jungle Out There"! (Just sign up through the City of Corona =D)

Our theme for this session is: "Under the Sea". The drawing class is on their second big project, Japanese Kimonos (inspired by Mindy Cherri's art lesson - BIG thanks!) The drawing students are working with the Elements of Art to create lines and patterns for the sleeves and neck line. Some students are trying to decide if they want the same pattern for the obi (the kimono's belt) - art forces an artist to practice critical decisions to express yourself. I totally enjoy the freedom of youth! IT INSPIRES ME!

Our first project, "Sea Creatures" using pastels. It was be a bit messy, but it was embraced with joy! Even some of the parents created their own pastel masterpiece of fun!!

I have some parents asking if I teach adult classes. I am sorry, I don't. I am positive the Corona Art Association (CAA) has some adult classes.

CAA just moved to the Corona Mall (next to Shogun and across from the Corona Public Library), for now - called "The Spot".... CAA and I are talking about me teaching classes at their location. Hoping it works out for both parties. I'll keep you posted! There are classes for school age students also...

CAA -- Saturdays at 10:00-11:30 am - Contact & Info: Diane Archuleta (951) 737-6064 (Corona Art Association, PO Box 1171, Corona, CA 92878 -- 951.735.3226 -- www.coronaartassociation.org)

OR Monart Drawing School - Contact & Info: Linda Cooper (951) 254- 2024

I heard a rumor that the city of Corona's parks and community services will be having their class enrollment "go live" on internet for Fall 2012's session. Excitement! When you see the program, you can sign-up right then and there!

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns, at (951) 736-6133 or r_zoumut@hotmail.com ( you can see more of my High school's students work at www.bolsagrande.org/ Faculty ... I'm the second to bottom teacher - best for last =D ... check out the "photo album" ! They did great!!!)

It was a blast!
Thanks for all your hard work ...
From the class work to your homework!
Congrats to all who made it to our last class! Certificate & a treat
for all who came
and homemade gold-medals to our
"Artist Homework Winners"!
These students were there for the 6 Saturday mornings and did every homework assigned with enthusiastic effort!
  • We had fun! Our last class, we did thumbprint people of a "concert". The ink stayed on our thumbs. It looked a bit Avatar-ish = ) We had an audience and on stage a drummer & guitar player.
  • Memories of this session's art lessons ... Cartoon faces, self-portrait homework, internet sites- homework drawing, Shapes to Forms-Bubbles and Jellyfish, different media-Wild Flowers, an Insect Adventure, research and discussions on Pop Art/ Wayne Thiebaud, still life studies of fruit then toys (using values), and then our thumbprint concert! and more...
  • Thank you for letting me hang-on to some of your artwork for the Bi-annual Fall "City Hall Exhibit" competition in October 2010! Please know, the artwork will be exhibiting in City Hall for 2 1/2 months.

  • There be a pick-up day for the 2010 Spring City Hall Exhibit artwork on Sat., July 24, 2010... Please pick-up! These artworks are Great memories of their childhood! (These artworks do not come back with frame/hang wire or matting.)
  • One parent wanted to purchase the frame that the artwork (from the City Hall Exhibit) is in ... if you want that opportunity also, please let me know. I think the frame is around $30 for the 11x 14", with matting another $10 and the hanging wire $4-5 ... yeah, the exhibit was a bit of money ($45 x 12-14 artworks). But so worth the students' confidence!
2010 Summer Art Session starts July 17.
Only 4 weeks... until Aug. 7
I look forward to our 2010 summer session! Fantasy Art !!
(Chinese, English, Japanese) DRAGONS, Trolls, Fairies, Castles, etc.... If you were in this session before, please know, practice makes a better product and it might be exhibited in the front of City Hall!
